Clean Rooms International becomes NEBB-certified

Michigan-based Clean Rooms International has met the requirements to become a NEBB-certified company. NEBB is an international certification association for firms that deliver high-performance building systems.

The US-based company is a designer and builder of cleanrooms and a wide variety of components for critical production areas, workstations and air-handling equipment.

This NEBB certification covers the following disciplines:

  • Cleanroom Performance Testing
  • Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing of Environmental Systems

Clean Rooms International said the NEBB certification ensures that the company not only maintain the education and skills required to perform at a high level, but also adhere to a strict code of ethics and professionalism.

The company’s cleanroom testing and certification solutions serve various industries, including aeronautics, automotive, electronics, government, healthcare, pharmaceutical plastics, semiconductor, universities and incubator companies.

Clean Rooms International rolls out mobile air filtration system

Grand Rapids Business Journal — A maker of cleanroom solutions this week introduced a mobile air filtration system to help curb the airborne spread of COVID-19 indoors.

Grand Rapids-based Clean Rooms International said it rolled out Guardiair, a mobile air filtration system that minimizes airborne contagions and particles with 99.99% efficiency at a 0.3 micron size.

Cleanrooms International is launching mobile air ventilation unit Guardiair

Clean Rooms International (CRI) – a leading manufacturer of cleanrooms, workstations and air filtration equipment – has introduced Guardiair, a mobile air filtration system that minimizes airborne contagions and particles with 99.99% efficiency at a 0.3 micron size.

“As businesses across the globe begin to cautiously call employees back to work, it’s essential to reassure staff, customers and other guests that the air they’re breathing is as safe as possible,” said Tim Werkema, President and CEO of CRI. “In this historic moment, we saw an immediate need for effective air filtration systems that decrease the risk of infection and build trust between organizations and the people entering their environments. Guardiair offers the highest quality air filtration and the presence of the mobile unit signifies to people in the vicinity that the air around them is being filtered.”

Drawing on 38 years of cleanroom grade equipment manufacturing and utilizing their standard HEPA filters, CRI’s engineering team developed Guardiair, which collects airborne particles and aerosols. Additional integrations, including a UV-C lamp and ULPA filter, can further increase the level of filtration, making it ideally suited for schools, healthcare settings, corporate environments, restaurants and retail.

Chief Operating Officer, Bret Asper adds: “Our company is dedicated to creating spaces for human innovation, and Guardiair is just one way we are bringing the power of cleanroom technology to new contexts.”

Detailed Product Features:

  • HEPA filter: 99.99% efficiency at 0.3 microns
  • Merv 8 prefilter
  • Indicator light for changing the HEPA filter
  • Variable speed control, perforated aluminum face screen and casters with brakes
  • Power cord
  • Optional integrated UV-C high-output germicidal lamp
  • Optional ULPA filter 99.9995% efficiency at minimum particle penetration size (MPPS)
  • A variety of powder-coat color options

Clean Rooms International Retrofits HEPA Units for COVID-19 Care Sites

Clean Rooms International (CRI) – a leading manufacturer of cleanrooms, workstations and air filtration equipment – is taking action in response to the urgent needs presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. To support life-sustaining and essential service providers, the company has successfully reconfigured and repurposed stock products to enable hospitals to convert standard patient rooms into negative pressure rooms for patient isolation.

“Healthcare systems are experiencing incredible pressure to accommodate growing numbers of patients impacted by the coronavirus,” said Tim Werkema, President and CEO of CRI. “Customers came to us seeking a new way to quickly convert standard hospital rooms into negative pressure rooms for quarantine. In less than a week, our team of engineers repurposed dozens of units. In less than a month, we’ve shipped more than 1,000 from coast to coast.”

Due to the nature of the COVID-19 disease, which can be transmitted through respiratory droplets in the air, CRI engineers looked at its HEPA air filtration product inventory. Standard HEPA fan filter units were inverted and paired with exhaust systems or mounted to a small cradle with castors to create mobile units. The products are highly efficient in filtering and evacuating contaminants from the air. This creates a negative pressure environment, minimizing airborne contagions from entering hallways and corridors in a health facility.

“As infection levels continue to rise, hospital systems will look for new and inventive ways to convert their facilities to meet patient needs,” said Bret Asper, Chief Operations Officer at CRI. “We’re grateful our product engineers were able to come up with a quick and cost-effective solution and we can bring this to market as quickly as we did.”
